Job Summary

COMPANY OVERVIEW: Our client a Karachi-based State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) regulated Electronic Money Institution (EMI) seeks to appoint an experienced professional for the following role:

Job Role:

The Manager Anti-Money Laundering & Reporting will act as the primary responsible person for AML/CFT oversight ensuring full regulatory compliance with SBP directives Anti-Money Laundering Act 2010 and FATF guidelines. This role will lead transaction monitoring suspicious activity review and reporting to SBP Financial Crime Monitoring units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise review and assign alerts/cases generated by Transaction Monitoring System (TMS) and Oversee transaction monitoring operations risk scoring controls sanctions screening and alert investigations.
  • Ensure Sanction Screening for onboarding customers and merchants and conduct sanction screening and adverse media checks for high-risk accounts.
  • Provide AML advisory and Help Desk support to other functional departments
  • Maintain strong working relationships with SBP compliance units for inspections and feedback.
  • Respond to AML/CFT related information requests from SBP FMU and law enforcement agencies.
  • Review policies SOPs Product Programs and Manuals from an AML/CFT perspective and enforce AML/CFT policies procedures and control frameworks.
  • Supervise STR/CTR reporting on the GoAML portal and maintain comprehensive MIS.
  • Conduct periodic AML risk assessments and identify vulnerabilities in onboarding IME partnerships or channel transactions.
  • Enhance risk detection systems using data-driven approaches and typology updates.
  • Ensure resolution and documentation of compliance cases as per SOPs.
  • Foster a strong compliance culture across the organization.
  • Any other assignment as deemed appropriate by supervisor

Education

  • Minimum 16 years of education preferably a Masters degree in Business Administration Law or related discipline from an HEC-recognized institution.
  • Certification in AML/CFT Compliance CAMS or related professional accreditation will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience preferably at a fintech start up or a large national / multinational organization.
  • Experience in financial institutions is preferred.

Requirements

  • Ability to excel in a dynamic evolving and fast paced start up environment
  • Proven experience in compliance roles within the banking / financial services industry with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal stakeholders SBP and law enforcement bodies
  • Ability to propose process enhancements and develop meaningful compliance dashboards/report
  • In-depth understanding of SBP AML/CFT Regulations AML Act EMI Regulations and other related reporting requirements.

Age

  • The candidate should preferably be not more than 35 years of age as of last date of submission of application.
