We are actively seeking a Shipping and Receiving Manager to take ownership of daily logistics operations immediately. This role is critical to ensuring efficient accurate and safe receiving shipping and delivery services while leading a team of associates and maintaining high client satisfaction.
What This Role Involves
The Shipping and Receiving Manager oversees all aspects of logistics operations including mail package pallet handling and outbound shipping. This role works closely with internal teams clients and external freight suppliers to ensure smooth operations safety compliance and timely service delivery. The position includes direct supervision of a team of hourly associates.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Manage the receiving sorting processing and distribution of all incoming mail packages and pallets
Oversee pickup processing and validation of documentation for all outgoing client shipments
Coordinate pickup and delivery of packages and mail to client work areas using delivery management systems
Handle and ship hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations and protocols
Supervise a team of 1012 hourly associates including scheduling PTO coordination and performance oversight
Ensure 100% compliance with employee safety training requirements
Maintain clean organized work areas and ensure safe operation of all equipment
Serve as the primary point of contact for service requests and equipment move requests ensuring completion within agreed timelines
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Ability to lift and move packages pallets and mail materials of varying weights
Extended periods of standing walking and movement throughout warehouse and delivery areas
Ability to safely operate delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment
Work in warehouse environments with varying temperatures and noise levels
Manual dexterity required for sorting processing and handling materials
Ability to work in areas where hazardous materials are present using required safety equipment
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
3 years of experience in logistics shipping or receiving operations
Proven ability to lead and manage teams of 1012 hourly associates
Strong customer service skills and professional communication with client personnel
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
Strong verbal written and listening communication skills
Effective time management organizational and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
1 year of experience shipping hazardous materials
Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems
Prior supervisory or management experience in logistics or warehouse environments
Familiarity with delivery management systems and logistics software
Experience coordinating with freight suppliers and validating documentation
Background in facility services or corporate logistics environments
Demonstrated consistency in values accountability and work ethic
