Join our Sustainable Planning and Strategy team in the Conservation Planning and Offsets Division at DCCEEW.

We are a welcoming supportive and geographically dispersed team that delivers biodiversity planning and assessment operational policy and guidance. We work closely with stakeholders to achieve consistent strategic approaches to sustainable planning outcomes.

As a Senior Conservation Planning Officer youll:

  • Coordinate and provide expert advice on statutory and strategic environmental planning to drive better conservation outcomes
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with internal teams local and state government industry and community stakeholders to identify opportunities and influence environmental planning decisions
  • Prepare briefing notes ministerials reports and other correspondence on a range of issues that inform critical decision-making
  • Review and report on environmental impacts of strategic plans planning proposals and major projects
  • Undertake data analysis and research to shape programs and policy
  • Interpret legislative reforms and flag areas of concern
  • Coordinate developing and reviewing operational policy and guidelines for environmental planning assessment
  • Support the delivery of the biodiversity certification program.

Essential Requirements

  • Current Drivers Licence.
