Job Summary
QE Lead
Toronto - 3-4 days WFO
We are seeking an experienced QE Lead to lead our quality engineering efforts focusing on test automation API testing and ETL validation. The ideal candidate will drive testing strategy mentor QE team members and ensure comprehensive quality coverage across our data-driven applications.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership- Lead and mentor a team of QE engineers providing technical guidance and career development
Test Strategy- Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies for web applications APIs and data pipelines
Automation Framework- Design and maintain robust test automation frameworks using Robot Framework and Python
API Testing -Create and execute comprehensive API test suites for RESTful and SOAP services
ETL Validation- Develop automated testing solutions for ETL processes and data pipeline validation
Quality Metrics- Establish quality metrics reporting and continuous improvement processes
Stakeholder Collaboration- Work closely with development product and business teams to ensure quality standards
Required Skills and Experience
Leadership 10 years in QE with 3 years in leadership lead role
Robot Framework- Expert-level experience in Robot Framework for test automation
Python- Strong programming skills in Python for test automation and scripting
SQL- Advanced SQL skills for database testing and data validation
API Testing- Extensive experience with API testing tools (Postman REST Assured etc.)
ETL Testing- Hands-on experience with ETL testing methodologies and data validation
Test Management- Experience with test planning execution and defect management
Technical Qualifications
Automation Tools Selenium Appium or similar webmobile automation tools
Testing Frameworks pytest unittest or other Python testing frameworks
Database Systems Experience with multiple database platforms (Oracle SQL Server PostgreSQL etc.)
CICD Integration Experience integrating automated tests into CICD pipelines
Performance Testing Knowledge of performance testing tools and methodologies
Version Control Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
Soft Skills
Team Management- Proven ability to lead and develop QE team members
Communication- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Problem Solving- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
Process Improvement- Experience implementing testing best practices and process optimization
Agile Methodology- Experience working in AgileScrum environments
Mentoring- Track record of coaching and developing junior QE engineers
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud platforms (OCP Azure)
Certification in testing methodologies (ISTQB etc.)
Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence testing
Knowledge of regulatory compliance testing
