Job Summary
Job Description:
A CNC Machine Operatorsets up runs and maintains Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts from materials like metal or plastic involving reading blueprints loading materials programming/adjusting machine settings (feeds speeds cuts) performing quality checks with measuring tools troubleshooting issues conducting routine maintenance and documenting production to ensure parts meet strict specifications and safety standards.
- Setup & Programming:Study blueprints load raw materials set up tools and input/adjust machine codes (toolpaths speeds).
- Operation:Run test runs monitor machines during production and make real-time adjustments for accuracy.
- Quality Control:Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (calipers micrometers) to verify they meet exact tolerances.
- Maintenance:Perform regular cleaning lubrication and minor repairs on equipment.
- Documentation:Keep detailed logs of production runs quality checks and any issues encountered.
- Safety & Compliance:Adhere to all company safety protocols and maintain a clean organized work area.
- Collaboration:Work with engineers and programmers to resolve complex problems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/blueprints.
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and precision.
- Understanding of CNC software/hardware.
- Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Loading/unloading raw stock and finished parts.
- Setting up tooling and fixtures.
- Verifying machine calibration.
- Troubleshooting operational errors.
