About the Opportunity
EnergyCo NSW is seeking a Manager Policy to join our Planning and Communities Branch and support the delivery of the Illawarra Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). Working within a Regional Coordination team this role will lead the development and implementation of strategic policy and guidelines addressing community social and land use planning considerations associated with REZ delivery in regional NSW. The role involves extensive collaboration across EnergyCo NSW Government agencies and local communities to maximise positive outcomes and opportunities arising from the renewable energy transition.
A key function of the role is coordinating with the NSW Department of Climate Change Energy Environment and Water to integrate consumer energy and decarbonisation programs into the delivery of the Illawarra REZ. You will lead robust engagement strategies and develop policies that align with existing regulatory frameworks and local and State planning processes. Working closely with senior executives agency counterparts industry and community stakeholders you will help ensure EnergyCo delivers REZs that share benefits with regional communities and leave a positive lasting legacy.
About You
To be successful in the role you will have an understanding and/or lived experience of the priorities and issues affecting regional and rural communities ideally in the Illawarra region.
You will have demonstrated professional experience developing policy or program advice with preference given to experience in the context of infrastructure project delivery or transformational energy programs.
As a leader with strong communication and engagement skills you will have the demonstrated experience in developing strong stakeholder relationships in the delivery of major programs initiatives or infrastructure projects in regional settings.

Who we are
The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board appointed by the Minister for Energy. EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change Energy the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).
EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Governments Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap which aims to transform the states electricity system into one that is cheap clean and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020 EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the States first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs) which are located in the Central-West Orana New England South West Hunter-Central Coast and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities investors and industry to investigate plan recommend and coordinate generation storage and network infrastructure projects.
