Job Summary
Allied Reliability is seeking a Director of Risk EHS and HR for a major Recyling operation.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate risk across entire organization and direct resources to mitigate risks.
Direct implementation of various EHS HR fleet safety FMCSA and risk management continuous improvement projects.
Advances relationships with leadership to ensure EHS and HR policies and procedures are being understood applied and followed. Working with leadership senior management share incident and best practices across the organization.
Advise and support senior leadership team on all EHS and HR programs and activities monitoring communicating escalating leading and lagging indicator performance and progress.
Serve as subject matter expert in commercial insurance risk management EHS and HR and provide counsel to C Suite in these areas.
Champion risk management EHS and HR initiatives focusing on preventive actions that identify and communicate organizational risk and prioritization.
Monitor and ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations.
Guide and support EHS Specialists in their respective regions.
Support and provide guidance to the HR Manager.
Provide oversight and ensure the reporting of relevant and impactful EHS and HR key performance indicators and overall performance metrics.
Serve as subject matter expert and chief decision maker in commercial insurance policies and coverages.
Lead and oversee commercial insurance renewal and policy decisions.
Liasian between insurance carriers agents and the organization.
Guide and monitor legal defense related to internal and external liability claims and provide regular updates to C Suite.
Provide guidance on claim management.
Oversee and provide expertise in customer vendor and contractor agreements and risk transfer mechanisms.
Leadership Responsibilities
Self-motivated a strong collaborator/communicator able to think creatively and to work with C Suite leadership to find solutions drive continuous improvement and produce impactful results. Guide and mentor Risk EHS and HR teams and be responsible for the overall direction coordination and evaluation of these personnel.
Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
Education and/or Experience
Essential Requirements
Bachelors degree in a related field.
Certified Safety Professional through Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
10 years in a Risk and/or EHS leadership position with experience in manufacturing construction and transportation safety.
Strong knowledge and experience in commercial insurance policies and risk transfer mechanisms.
Ability to travel throughout company locations and attend conferences board meetings etc.
Strong technical communication skills required: Excel Word etc.
Professional Competencies and Skills
Must be able to work in a sometimes noisy or dusty indoor and outdoor environment.
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced high-pressure role.
Must have good communication skills.
Ability to work effectively handling multiple projects and across multiple departments and management levels.
Must be able to influence and direct others in a professional manner.
Must be able to professionally represent the company to external stakeholders.
