Pennichuck Corporation is engaged primarily in the collection storage treatment distribution and sale of potable water in southern and central New Hampshire. We have two business segments: regulated water utility operations and non-regulated water management services. Our Distribution center is located in Merrimack New Hampshire.
Environmental Engineering / Environmental Science Internship Summer 2026
In this position you will gain field experience assisting and supporting the needs of the Companys Engineering and Water Supply departments with the following activities:
- Participate in long-term source water monitoring and inspection activities including well monitoring water quality sampling stream flow monitoring and inspection of storm water structures;
- Assist Engineering with the responsibility of keeping GIS infrastructure and geospatial information as accurate and up to date as possible;
- Identify and remove invasive plant species from sources of supply;
- Analyze water quality characteristics through laboratory work;
- Calibrate and clean field equipment;
- Complete engineering analysis and calculations;
- Conduct utility surveys using GPS techniques within southern and mid New Hampshire and
- Assist Construction Project Managers and Inspectors to monitor and document construction of water main installation and facility improvements.
Your qualifications should include:
- Current enrollment in a four-year college degree program in environmental science civil engineering or environmental engineering
- Exposure to surveying GIS engineering planning environmental science and/or interest in the water industry desired
- Experience with AutoCAD and ESRI GIS software products such as ArcMap and ArcCatalog is a plus
- Possession of a state drivers license in good standing
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and perform assign duties accurately.
