Salary Range: $31.11/Hr - $38.89/Hr

Hiring Range: $31.11/Hr - $34.99/Hr

Location: Sheridan Villa Long Term Care: 2460 Truscott Drive Mississauga

Hours of work:Casual; No guarantee of hours.

Shifts: 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and 8am-8pm Saturday/Sunday. Must be available weekends & holidays.

Who we are:The Long-Term Care and Senior Services Divisions require staff to provide person-centered care to our residents and families following the Butterfly Model of Care. This will ensure high levels of emotional wellbeing and a better quality of life for those living in our homes. Staff are to have emotional intelligence ability to deliver person-centered care in an authentic way that is meaningful to the resident and their family.

While you wont be providing direct resident care you will play an integral role in providing daily administrative support to the Supervisor Resident Support Services in carrying out their day-to-day business projects and planning activities.

What you will do in this role:

Reporting to the Supervisor Resident Support Servicesyou will provide courteous and helpful assistance to all internal residents staff members volunteers external visitors and contractors.

  • Administrative support which includes but is not limited to filing faxing photocopying and typing
  • Greet and direct visitors appropriately
  • Direct incoming calls in a timely manner and operate a paging system as needed
  • Monitor the lobby to ensure resident safety and respond to emergency situations in accordance with the Centres policies and procedures
  • Responsible for monetary transactions which may include payment receipts and collecting cash for meal tickets
  • Maintain organization and confidentiality of documents (may include filing archiving and/or shredding documents)
  • Responsible for petty cash includingreconciliation and replenishment
  • Special projects as assigned (may require additional work hours)
  • Supports scheduling/payroll function by doing call ins for staff replacements and related data entry/changes

What the role requires:

  • High school diploma or equivalent along with skills in basic accounting
  • Minimum of one year customer service experience within a health care environment
  • Previous cash handling experience
  • Vulnerable Sector Check & TB Skin Test
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered

Skills/Abilities:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to act appropriately in situations requiring compassion tact diplomacy and confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) and general accounting software applications such as Point Click Care
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity equity and inclusion through continuous development modeling inclusive behaviors and proactively managing bias

Nice to have:

  • Experience in PeopleSoft related to Absence Management Enhanced Scheduling and Time Administration as required for scheduling support
