We are looking for an experienced Rigger Operator for our Fittershop - Engineering to contribute to the efficient assembly and installation of marine equipment and structures by specializing in the precise and safe positioning of heavy machinery components and ship modules using a variety of rigging techniques and equipment.

- Department: Engineering Workshop
- Location: South Arm Road V&A Waterfront
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Carry out rigging and lifting operations for machinery equipment and materials
- Assist the chargehand in effectively ensuring that work conditions on the vessel are safe to carry out operations.
- Provide clear and accurate updates throughout ongoing projects to the Artisan/ Chargehand/ Foreman
- Report to Artisan or Chargehand upon completing the job to conduct testings for defects.
- Must know the sizes of all slings and shackles
- Safely operate and maintain company equipment
- Assist with general site duties as required
- Perform a comprehensive inspection of all spares stored in the inventory room.
- Effectively perform hands-on evaluations of defective tools
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 3 years diesel fitting experience within marine industry
- Proven experience as a Rigger Operator
- Trade Test Qualification
KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES
- Ability to assess each job and select the correct equipment.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environment
- Must be punctual and reliable positive attitude
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends.
- Work well in a team and follow instructions
- Practice good safety and hygiene standards
