A leading engineering and manufacturing organisation within the heavy industrial and petrochemical sector is seeking a Senior CAD Operator to join their technical team. This role is ideal for a highly experienced drafting professional with extensive experience in petrochemical plant environments particularly involving piping systems pressure vessels and related mechanical infrastructure.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for petrochemical plant equipment and systems.
Develop and modify detailed drawings for piping layouts pressure vessels tanks and mechanical assemblies.
Interpret engineering designs P&IDs and technical specifications to create compliant drawings.
Ensure all drawings meet industry standards codes and project requirements.
Collaborate with engineers and project teams to support design development and project execution.
Maintain drawing registers revisions and document control procedures.
Assist with design updates redlining and as-built documentation.

Minimum Requirements

CAD qualification or relevant technical drafting certification.
Minimum 7 years experience as a CAD Operator in the petrochemical or process plant industry.
Strong experience in piping design pressure vessels tanks and plant layouts.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs engineering drawings and fabrication details.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work within strict engineering standards.

Advantageous

Experience working on petrochemical plants refineries or process facilities.
Exposure to 3D modelling software used in plant design environments.
Knowledge of industry standards and codes applicable to piping and vessels.
