The Position
Blue Door located within the Ainslie Village has been an integral part of the community since 1983. The drop-in centre provides support and assistance to anyone in need within the community and the surrounding area. The centre is a socially inclusive environment where participants can collect free and nutritious meals hygiene and other supplies information and referrals to connect with other services and access life skills advice and advocacy. The Support Woker is responsible for creating a supportive and socially inclusive atmosphere for patrons offering information referrals and advice and all tasks relating to the provision of nutritious meals.You will also have the opportunity make a difference to the lives of others with every role helping us to give people the hand up they need.
About you
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual eager to make a positive impact in the community. As a Support Worker at Blue Door you will embody our organisational values and demonstrate a commitment to supporting those in need. Your education in human services combined with your relevant experiences prepares you to assist vulnerable community effectively. You will create a socially inclusive environment for everyone you interact with while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in all assistance provided. Building positive relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders will be a key part of your role and your effective communication strategies will support individuals facing complex challenges.
Tertiary qualifications in a human service-related field such as psychology social work or community welfare related discipline with a minimum Cert IV or higher in Mental Health Community Services or AOD is essential. Additionally a current WWVP card current ACT or NSW Drivers Licence Certification in First Aid or willingness to attain within 3 months is essential.

Enterprise Agreement Classification - Community Level 4 with an hourly rate of $44.58 per hour 15% Superannuation
