Communications Specialist

This is a new Communications Specialist role that will support the Executives Office Human Resources and Finance. Youll work closely with the County Executive and other senior county leadership as a trusted partner in keeping employees and the public informed about key county initiatives. Your communication skills will help people clearly understand whats happening across the organization through timely transparent and well-crafted messaging.

You will collaborate with Finance on budget and process communications support Human Resources on organizational priorities lead internal communication and work alongside the Executives Office to support speechwriting media relations storytelling and content creation. You will partner with senior leaders to help employees understand processes or organizational changes strengthen interdepartmental coordination and support leadership in delivering effective public service.

The Communications Department provides communication support to all three branches of Pierce County government. Our goal is to provide strategic communications counsel and create engaging and timely information about programs projects activities and actions taken by the County. • A Bachelors degree in marketing communications journalism or a closely related field; and
• 3-5 years of related professional communications experience including web management/development experience is required.
