General Summary
The Master Production Scheduling Metrics & Communications Lead is a critical partner to VCGT Site Production Scheduling responsible for owning scheduling governance performance metrics systems of record and crossfunctional communication. This role serves as the central point of accountability for the site schedule ensuring alignment across all functional schedulers and stakeholders while maintaining a single trusted source of truth.
The lead will own scheduling forums manage scheduling communications and Team channels develop and own schedule performance metrics and build dashboards and Smartsheets that provide visibility into schedule adherence risks and execution. This role will act as a master scheduler within the Emerson RTMS system partnering closely with other schedulers to drive consistency accuracy and continuous improvement in how the site plans and executes work.
This position requires a strong communicator facilitator and systemsthinker who can influence crossfunctionally translate data into insights and proactively evolve scheduling processes in a complex manufacturing environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Master Scheduling & Systems Ownership
- Serve as a master production scheduler supporting Site Production Scheduling maintaining alignment across all functional and area schedulers.
- Own and maintain the sites scheduling source of truth ensuring accuracy consistency and disciplined use of scheduling systems.
- Become proficient in and act as a power user for the Emerson RTMS scheduling system; support adoption governance and best practices.
- Partner with crossfunctional schedulers to integrate inputs resolve conflicts and maintain an executable integrated schedule.
- Support scenario planning schedule tradeoff discussions and impact assessments as needed.
Scheduling Forums & Governance
- Own and lead recurring scheduling forums including preparation facilitation documentation and followup.
- Develop structured agendas drive productive discussions and ensure clear decisions actions and ownership.
- Act as a neutral facilitator across functions to align priorities address constraints and resolve schedule risks.
- Continuously evaluate and improve forum structure cadence and effectiveness.
Metrics KPIs & Performance Tracking
- Develop implement and own scheduling metrics and KPIs including schedule adherence stability and execution performance.
- Track and analyze schedule performance trends and drivers of deviation.
- Translate data into clear insights and storytelling for leadership and crossfunctional stakeholders.
- Establish standard definitions methodologies and governance for scheduling metrics.
Smartsheet & Dashboard Ownership
- Build own and maintain multiple Smartsheets used to manage scheduling workflows actions risks and communications.
- Develop dashboards that provide realtime visibility into schedule status KPIs and execution risks.
- Ensure tools are intuitive scalable and aligned with stakeholder needs.
- Continuously enhance dashboards and tools to improve usability transparency and decisionmaking.
Knowledge Skills and Attributes
- Strong facilitation and meeting leadership skills; comfortable leading crossfunctional forums.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex scheduling data into clear insights.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience developing and using metrics and KPIs.
- Advanced proficiency or strong aptitude for tools such as Smartsheet dashboards Excel and scheduling systems.
- Ability to quickly learn and become proficient in new systems (e.g. Emerson RTMS).
- Highly organized detailoriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Influences effectively without authority; builds trust across functions.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a bias toward action.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Operations Supply Chain Engineering Business or a related discipline.
- Typically requires 3 6 years of experience in scheduling supply chain manufacturing operations or program management.
- Experience acting as a central scheduler systems owner or planning integrator strongly preferred.
- Experience in a regulated or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proactively communicate schedule changes risks decisions and key updates.
- Tailor messaging to different audiences balancing detail with clarity
