Position Overview

The Arizona Department of Economic Security (AZDES) Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility (DBME) is seeking three (3) Customer Service Representative 2 professionals to provide customer support and service to the general public. This is an onsite role requiring direct interaction with customers to address inquiries provide program-related information resolve complaints and process service-related tasks.

Candidates must be local at the time of submission available for in person interviews within one week after posting close and able to start within two weeks of an offer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to customer inquiries in person and by phone providing information on programs services licenses permits registrations and eligibility.
  • Enter update and manage customer information in computer systems.
  • Resolve customer service or billing issues including:
    • Processing refunds
    • Adjusting bills
    • Updating account details
  • Ensure customer issues are resolved accurately and appropriate changes are made.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions actions taken and outcomes.
  • Process forms such as change-of-address service orders or account adjustments.
  • Refer unresolved issues to designated departments for further investigation.
  • Determine fees or charges collect payments/deposits and arrange billing.
  • Contact customers to follow up on inquiries claims or account adjustments.
  • Handle difficult or complex customer service complaints using sound judgment.
  • Conduct research and apply agency policies to resolve customer issues.
  • Perform cash-handling duties including:
    • Reconciling receipts
    • Verifying balances
    • Preparing and transmitting deposits to the bank or state treasurer daily.
Required Skills
  • Ability to follow established guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong customer service experience with the ability to handle difficult situations.
  • Problem solving skills for complex customer concerns.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and data entry.
Preferred Skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English preferred)
Requirements
  • Must pass HireRight background check and drug screening.

Additional Information
  • Tentative start date depends on interview schedule onboarding completion and state-issued Purchase Order (PO).
