Description

What to expect in the job

  • Responsible for the scheduling and organisation of material into the manufacturing plant.
  • Liaise with Planning & Operations on Supply/Demand issues.
  • Work with Sales team on new product/customer introduction.
  • End to end responsibility including; Purchase Order placement Purchase Order tracking expedite or de-expedite product as required ensuring material availability at all times.
  • Inventory Management - understand and maintain the minimum necessary raw materials inventory and report on the status of inventory levels against inventory targets.
  • Ensure agreed performance targets with suppliers are met including on-time delivery and lead-time accuracy.
  • Measure and report material shortages which are impacting the production plan and update on availability as required.
  • Play a key role in assisting the Head of Purchasing in terms of purchasing for the site.
  • Participate drive and deliver on projects across sites and also in group teams.
  • Proactively seek the best quality and value for money products.
  • Proactively thinking of ideas for the future and supporting change across the organisation.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with both internal customers and external suppliers.
  • Ensure adherence to purchasing Policies.
  • Ensure all KPIs are met and are accurate.
  • Generate and present daily / weekly / monthly reports and metrics as appropriate.

  • Adherence to Budget and Target
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives (Prize delivered to target)
  • Adherence to Lean Operations deliverables and Group Policies and Procedures.
  • Efficiency As per efficiency metrics




Requirements

What we need from you

  • Product and industry knowledge desirable.
  • Related graduate qualification desirable.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills knowledge of excel and other common software tools.
  • Strong Negotiation Skills
  • Ability to interact well with management peers.
  • Good numeracy and analytical skills are essential.
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to lead projects from idea stage to implementation.
  • A Lean Six Sigma qualification would be advantageous.
