About NAAFLS
The North Australian Aboriginal Family Legal Service (NAAFLS) is a not-for-profit organisation delivering holistic legal and support services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experiencing domestic family and sexual violence. With offices across the Top End our work is grounded in cultural respect community collaboration and self-determination.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and culturally grounded Case Worker to join our dynamic this rewarding role youll support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients with non-legal assistance
helping them navigate complex systems achieve their goals and access the support they need building strong relationships and delivering practical on-the-ground support.

What Youll Do
- Collaborate with solicitors to develop and implement culturally appropriate case plans
- Assist with non-legal support to clients with appointments transport applications non-legal including referrals and advocacy
- Support clients during court appearances child protection meetings and other sensitive processes
- Build strong culturally respectful relationships with clients and stakeholders in remote communities
- Travel regularly to remote Top End communities as part of outreach and service delivery
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of Community Legal Education (CLE) sessions
- Maintain accurate client records and uphold data integrity in NAAFLS systems
- Participate in team meetings supervision training and ongoing professional development
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Experience in case work or a related field
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development
- Ability to deliver culturally appropriate client-centred support
- Experience working within a case management framework
- Effective and respectful communication with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Ability to use cultural knowledge and lived experience to support clients
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team
- Adaptability to manage competing priorities and changing circumstances
- Competency in Microsoft Office and client database systems
- Willingness to travel regularly for overnight trips to remote communities
- Hold a Working with Children Clearance (WWCC) a satisfactory Criminal History Check and a current NT C Class Drivers Licence
