We are seeking anexperienced and culturally grounded practitioner to join our team instrengthening kinship care arrangements for Aboriginal children and this role you will coordinate and oversee kinship case contractingprocesses support carers and families and ensure children remain safe stableand strongly connected to culture community and Country. Working within aself-determined community-led model of care you will exercise soundprofessional judgement while maintaining compliance with legislative andfunding requirements. Position Purpose
The Kinship Case ContractedWorker provides ongoing support to children and young people in care with theirKinship Carers. We aim to ensure that our Carers have the resources and killsthey need to provide quality care. The Kinship Case Contracted Worker will benon-judgemental & have a commitment to best practice to ensure compliancewith the VIC Statutory Out of Home Care Standards.
Key Selection Criteria
Demonstrate an understanding of andcommitment to Aboriginal Culture with the ability to liaise with and supportthe local community.
Demonstrated capacity to workautonomously to develop implement & manage effective case plans formultiple children or young people simultaneously.
Demonstrated u8nderstanding of trauma& its impact on the development & behaviour of children.
Understanding of the complex care needsof children & young people living in Out of Home Care.
Knowledge of the Children Youth andFamilies Act 2005.
Ability to prepare high-qualityreports maintain accurate records & use computer-based technologies foradministrative practices.
Ability to adapt rapidly to changingcircumstances & organisational requirements.
Qualifications and RegistrationsRequirement (Essential or Desirable).
Valid Victorian drivers licence ESSENTIAL
Diploma of Community Services Youth Servicesor similar ESSENTIAL
A relevant tertiary qualification in SocialWork Psychology Youth Work and/or related behavioural sciences at degreelevel DISIRABLE
Strong understanding of Child Youth andFamilies Act 2005 and the Best Interest Principles Framework ESSENTIAL
A satisfactory Working with ChildrenCheck and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIAL
A person of Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islanderbackground DESIRABLE
Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with GEGACrequirements ESSENTIAL
