Job Description

As a Senior Category Analyst for Construction Trades Sourcing you will be instrumental in achieving our strategic objectives and mitigating trade labor risk within Microns US capital construction portfolio. You will analyze and forecast construction trade labor demand availability risks costs and industry trends across Microns US portfoliomaintaining datasets producing regular updates and delivering actionable insights. You will support cross-functional initiatives across category teams developing and implementing actionable insights that empower meeting business objectives. While you will work primarily with internal stakeholders you will also collaborate with prime builders (GC CM EPC etc.) trade contractors local union and merit-based organizations industry community and government partners for data collection and market assessments.

Responsibilities

Tools & Technology

• Maintain and update construction trade labor datasets including demand forecasts cost models and market availability dashboards.

• Utilize analytical tools and technology to organize analyze and visualize labor market data for reporting and decision support.

• Support the automation and streamlining of data collection and reporting processes.

Critical Thinking & Problem Solving

• Analyze labor demand availability cost and risk data to identify trends gaps and opportunities for improvement.

• Assess risks and develop mitigation recommendations related to labor supply cost escalation and market constraints.

• Support the should-cost team and Category Supplier Managers with data-driven insights for bid and change order assessments.

External Insights & Benchmarking

• Monitor and benchmark construction labor market trends wage rates and industry best practices using internal and external sources.

• Produce quarterly market intelligence updates and real-time alerts on emerging risks or opportunities.

• Collaborate with prime builders (GC CM EPC etc.) trade contractors local union and merit-based organizations industry community and government partners to gather and validate market data.

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnering

• Communicate findings and actionable insights clearly to internal stakeholders and external partners.

• Support cross-functional initiatives by providing timely and relevant analytics to empower business decisions.

• Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal teams and external partners for effective data collection and market assessments.

Requirements

• Minimum 35 years of experience in data analysis market intelligence cost modeling or construction labor analytics (preferred but not strictly required).

• A relevant Bachelors degree or equivalent experience (e.g. Business Finance Economics Supply Chain Management Construction Management Engineering or a related field).

• Proven experience in analytical thinking problem-solving and attention to detail with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables formulas data modeling) experience with Power BI or similar visualization tools familiarity with SQL or database querying and exposure to ETL processes for data extraction transformation and integration.

• Experience with demand forecasts cost models and market intelligence reports.

• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners (e.g. prime builders trade contractors unions government and community organizations).

• Strong business acumen and data fluency skills leveraging insights to support data-driven decisions and risk mitigation.
