Job Summary

The Actuarial Department at Trupanion is recruiting an actuarial professional with the ability to work well in a dynamic and a complex regulatory environment. The position requires resourceful and creative actuarial capabilities excellent communication interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver high quality and timely work products to both internal and external customers. 

This position is open to candidates in the Seattle area. You will have a hybrid remote/in-office schedule where you will work from our casual pet-friendly office at least 3 days a week.

What you will do: 

  • Product pricing reserving and forecasting 

  • Work directly with state regulators to manage rate and rule filings to completion 

  • Foster effective working relationships with key internal business partners across the organization 

  • Become an information expert with ability to understand & translate data into meaningful communications 

Experience you have:  

  • 2 SOA/CAS exams passed preferred 

  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience preferred 

  • Pricing/Rate filing experience preferred  

  • Reserving and Forecasting experience preferred 

What youll bring:  

  • Ability to develop and apply actuarial models to diverse situations 

  • Experience submitting and managing rate filings and/or regulatory review process 

  • Ability to plan manage and execute projects 

  • Resourcefulness creativity and resilience 

  • Ability to work with actuaries from a variety of backgrounds both P&C and SOA 

  • Excel experience is required 

  • SQL experience is strongly preferred 

  • Highly driven and motivated to work in a fast-paced high-growth environment 

Compensation: 

  • The pay range for this position is $70000 - $80200 on a full-time schedule. 

  • Along with base salary Trupanion employees may be eligible for monthly bonuses. 

  • We want all employees to be invested in Trupanions success so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members. Our new hire grants vest over 4 years.
