Job Summary: The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the delivery of ready-mix concrete to various job sites. This role involves managing orders scheduling deliveries directing truck drivers and ensuring timely and efficient delivery operations. The Dispatcher will also maintain communication with customers drivers and other departments to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Order Management: Receive and process orders for concrete delivery ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule deliveries to meet client needs and project timelines.
- Driver Coordination: Assign and direct truck drivers to various delivery locations monitoring the status of deliveries and resolving any issues or delays.
- Customer Service: Maintain communication with clients contractors and truck drivers throughout the delivery process providing updates and resolving any concerns.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety standards and regulations are followed during the delivery process.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers as needed.
- Documentation: Document all orders deliveries and client interactions for future reference.
- Team Leadership: Assist in the supervision and coordination of dispatch team members providing guidance and support as needed.
- Problem Solving: Resolve delivery or product issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in dispatching or logistics preferably in the ready-mix concrete industry.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or related field is a plus.
- Skills: Excellent communication organizational and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in computer-based dispatch systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with concrete products and delivery processes.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented customer-focused and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
- Hours: Monday to Friday with occasional weekends and holidays as required.
- Environment: Office setting with frequent interaction with drivers and customers.
