We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to support daily intermodal drayage operations in Kansas City KS. This role is responsible for dispatching Owner Operators coordinating routes tracking freight and ensuring deliveries are executed in the most time-efficient and cost-effective manner.

• Coordinate daily dispatch and routing for Owner Operators based on customer pickup and delivery schedules.

• Analyze load information to determine the most efficient and cost-effective routing plans.

• Dispatch and manage 15 drivers in a fast-paced intermodal environment.

• Monitor real-time driver locations and proactively assist to maintain service standards.

• Act as the primary point of contact for Owner Operators providing clear communication and support.

• Build develop and maintain strong working relationships with Owner Operators.

• Assign loads strategically based on driver preferences availability and operational needs.

• Resolve issues such as schedule changes equipment problems chassis issues or vehicle maintenance delays.

• Escalate complex operational issues to the Logistics Manager when necessary.

• Ensure dispatch routing and shipment details are complete and accurate in the system.

• Maintain detailed shipment delivery and routing records.

• Source equipment using cost-effective routing strategies while balancing customer and driver needs.

• Operate within established profitability guidelines and rate structures.

• Maintain a working knowledge of DOT Hours of Service (HOS) and compliance requirements.

• Support Owner Operators in maintaining compliance and daily dispatch eligibility.

• Participate in rotating on-call coverage for after-hours and weekend operations.

• Identify and implement improvements to routing efficiency and equipment utilization.

• Collaborate with the Logistics Manager and logistics team to enhance operational performance.

• Provide professional high-quality customer service to Owner Operators internal teams and external customers.

• Communicate effectively across departments to ensure smooth daily operations.

• Contribute to a positive solution-driven team culture.

• Minimum 1 year of intermodal transportation experience

• Minimum 1 year of logistics coordination or dispatching experience

• Proven ability to manage and dispatch 15 or more drivers

• Strong organizational multitasking and problem-solving skills

• High attention to detail and ability to work independently

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Prior experience in intermodal drayage operations

• Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS)

• Knowledge of chassis container and rail ramp operations

• Salary Range: $38000 $55000 annually (based on experience)
