Job Title: Workday Test Manager

Location: Chicago IL Onsite

Duration: Long Term

Certification: mandatory

Experience: 8 12 years overall 5 years in Workday Testing

Job Summary: The Workday Test Manager will lead end-to-end testing activities for Workday implementations and enhancements across HCM Financials Payroll and Integrations. The role involves defining test strategy managing test teams coordinating with business and technical stakeholders and ensuring high-quality Workday releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and define the Workday test strategy test plans and testing governance
• Lead functional integration regression UAT and payroll testing
• Manage and mentor onshore/offshore test teams
• Coordinate testing across Workday modules:
  • HCM (Core HCM Compensation Benefits Absence)
  • Talent (Recruiting Performance Learning)
  • Payroll (US / Global)
  • Financials (optional but preferred)
• Plan and execute Workday release testing (bi-annual updates)
• Oversee defect management using Jira/ALM and drive resolution
• Collaborate with Workday functional consultants developers and business SMEs
• Ensure compliance with Workday testing best practices and audit standards
• Track and report testing metrics risks and status to leadership
• Support UAT planning execution and sign-off

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Workday testing
• Expertise in HCM and Payroll testing (mandatory)
• Experience managing Workday releases and regression cycles
• Knowledge of Workday integrations (EIB Studio PECI APIs)
• Test management tools: Jira ALM Azure DevOps TestRail
• Strong stakeholder communication and leadership skills
• Experience working in Agile / Hybrid delivery models

Nice to Have

• Workday Financials testing experience
• Test automation exposure (Workday-specific or API testing)
• Workday Pro certification
• Experience in large global Workday implementations

Education

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent
