Job Summary

Champion best-practice governance and help shape confident transparent decision-making in thiskey leadership role driving Councils meeting governance access to information delegations and compliance frameworks ensuring integrity and excellence across all decision-making the RoleReporting to the Manager Governance you will be responsible for:Providing expert governance advice and support to senior leaders to ensure effective meetings and complianceCoordinating business papers minute-taking and post-meeting actions for Council ARIC and RLPP meetingsManaging and optimising Councils business paper software including user support training and continuous improvementOverseeing GIPA processes record-keeping and statutory reportingMaintaining systems for legislative compliance delegations and reporting to the executive and ARICDeveloping and reviewing governance policies frameworks and related projectsResearching and advising on complex governance issues and legislative mattersLeading and developing a Governance team and managing related budgetsWhat Youll BringTertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or substantial demonstrated local government governance experience Proven expertise in meeting governance business paper systems and minute-takingStrong knowledge of the Local Government Act & Regulations GIPA Act PPIPA Public Interest Disclosures Act and related legislationExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to advise executives and Councillors and engage internal/external stakeholdersDemonstrated capability to design and run compliance delegations and policy frameworks; sound judgement in sensitive/complex issuesLeadership experience building a cohesive customer-focused team and delivering organisation-wide trainingWhy Randwick City CouncilLeadership impact within a values-driven organisation committed to integrity accountability and service excellenceOpportunity to shape best-practice systems across CouncilProfessional development and leadership training to support your career growthPermanent full-time role with access to a leaseback vehicleReady to bring your governance expertise to a pivotal role that strengthens trust and transparencyFurther Information:View the position Lynch at Public Sector People onor email for a confidential close: 11:59pm 2 February 2026.
