Position Title: Payroll Administrator

Type: In-Office Full-Time
Seeking candidates open to permanent temporary/contract settings in the Edmonton and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

As the Payroll Administrator you will ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with payroll legislation and company policies. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Payroll Processing:
    • Process weekly bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
    • Ensure payroll accuracy and timeliness to support employee satisfaction and operational continuity.
  • Payroll Compliance & Administration:
    • Administer deductions benefits remittances and payroll adjustments.
    • Maintain compliance with federal/provincial payroll legislation and internal policies.
  • Reporting & Systems Management:
    • Prepare payroll reports assist with audits and maintain accurate payroll records.
    • Use payroll systems such as Viewpoint ADP Ceridian or similar to manage data and streamline processes.
  • Collaborating & Employee Support:
    • Respond to payroll inquiries and work closely with HR Finance and project teams.
    • Support payroll-related initiatives that enhance efficiency and overall employee experience.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role candidates should demonstrate the following:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years of payroll experience preferably in a high-volume or unionized environment.
    • PCP or NPI designation preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with payroll software (Viewpoint ADP Ceridian or similar).
    • Strong understanding of payroll legislation deductions and reporting.
  • Key Competencies:
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Strong communication time management and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
