Process Engineer - Spring Lake MI
DISHER is partnering with a leading custom cable assembly and wire harness manufacturer to add a a Process Engineer to their team to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new high-reliability wire harness and cable assemblies supporting new product Introduction activities. The Process Engineer will lead continuous improvement of wire harness and cable assembly operations by developing optimizing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes owning tooling and material recommendations supporting new product introduction through DFM and documentation and ensuring compliance with key industry standards and customer requirements.

What you will get to do:
- Review customer prints and define efficient high-quality wire harness and cable assembly processes
- Design and specify tooling fixtures and materials for repeatable cost-effective production
- Lead NPI activities including DFM BOM review tooling fixtures and work instructions
- Maintain compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 AS9100 MIL-STD and ITAR requirements
- Support quality root cause analysis and continuous process improvement in a small-shop environment
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production quality suppliers and quoting teams
- Assist with electrical testing EMI/EMC considerations and high-reliability assemblies
- Use CAD software for harness routing and formboard support
- Heavy focus on new product development with growing responsibility for ongoing process improvement
What will make you successful:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical or related Engineering field
- 3 years experience
- Ability to read prints and develop efficient wire harness or cable assembly processes
- Experience with tooling fixtures work instructions and NPI support
- Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 AS9100 and MIL-STD requirements or ability to quickly learn
- Hands-on shop-floororiented engineer with strong problem-solving skills
- CAD experience for harness routing or formboard support
- Wire harness/cable assembly experience preferred
- Military defense or aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience in high-mix or contract manufacturing environments preferred
