Job Summary

On behalf of our client we are seeking highly motivated energetic and qualified individuals to fill the position of Health and Safety Coordinator within the Health and Safety Department. The role requires a proactive individual with the drive and capability to meet the demands of the position and consistently deliver against the Companys expectations.

Overview of the Position

The Role is Responsible for identifying advising and co-ordinate all occupational safety and health issues and programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain an effective Health Safety and Environment (HSE) communication framework between the Company contractors regulatory authorities and affected communities.
  • Plan and deliver Health & Safety training programs for employees to ensure awareness compliance and continuous improvement in safety practices.
  • Conduct HSE inductions for contractors visitors and new employees ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.
  • Monitor and audit the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system to ensure compliance with approved procedures and safe work practices.
  • Participate in risk assessments support hazard identification and continuously improve risk mitigation and control measures.
  • Prepare coordinate and participate in Operational Safety Audits HSE construction inspections and ongoing operational monitoring activities.
  • Prepare coordinate and communicate Health & Safety statistical and management reports in line with Company HSE policies and procedures including incident accident and near-miss investigations root-cause analysis and tracking of corrective actions to closure.
  • Promote and continuously improve safety standards and safety culture including developing and implementing new approaches to addressing health and safety risks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all Health & Safety activities inspections trainings incidents and audits within the plant.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management that are necessary for the effective execution of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (BA or BSc) in a discipline related to Health and Safety Safety Engineering Process Safety Safety Management and/or Occupational Health and Hygiene.
  • A minimum of five (5) years proven safety experience within the processing manufacturing or construction industry. Experience within the petroleum and/or energy sector will be considered an added advantage.
  • Professional HSE certifications (e.g. NEBOSH OSHA ISO 45001).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Strong working knowledge of international Health and Safety standards regulations and best practices.
