ZEN Carbon is developing reactor-driven CO₂ mineralization systems that permanently lock carbon into concrete. We are scaling from pilot reactors toward industrial deployment and credit-grade carbon accounting.
We are hiring a Concrete Chemistry & Carbonation Lead to own the chemical kinetic and microstructural foundations of our mineralization technology.

You will directly determine:
How much CO₂ we can credibly claim.
How efficiently we mineralize.
How safely we scale.
How defensible our carbon credits are.
This is a technical leadership role at the core of our carbon removal platform.
What Youll Do
Lead carbonation chemistry strategy across pilot and scale-up reactors
Model and quantify CO₂ reaction kinetics in cementitious systems
Interpret multi-parameter reactor data (pH conductivity temperature torque off-gas)
Design experiments to improve mineralization efficiency and reduce late-stage losses
Quantify defensible sequestration mass with uncertainty bounds
Align chemical validation with carbon credit methodologies.
Translate lab findings into scalable reactor and control decisions
Requirements
MSc or equivalent in Cement Chemistry Materials Science Chemical Engineering or related field
Strong grounding in cement hydration and concrete carbonation mechanisms
Experience with reaction kinetics modelling and mass balance analysis
Ability to design structured experiments (DoE) and interpret complex datasets
Comfort working at the interface of chemistry process engineering and automation
Preferred:
Experience with pressurized gassolid or gasslurry systems
Familiarity with carbon accounting or MRV concepts
Analytical testing interpretation or advanced materials characterization experience.
