As a Reliability and Connected Aircraft Engineer youll help develop insights through the CASA-approved Reliability Program and work closely with Technical Services Engineers. Youll structure problem identification prioritisation and solution development using Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and MSG-3 methodologies that underpin our continuing airworthiness and maintenance programs.
Youll also be the technical focal point for day-of-operations activity for our connected aircraft managing aircraft software distribution and connectivity systems. This includes facilitating insights from aircraft-sourced data to improve safety performance and predictive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilise MSG-3 (Maintenance Steering Group) knowledge to provide recommendations on improvements to the established maintenance program.
- Coordinate a regular cadence and feedback loop with internal and external stakeholders across-business functions (e.g. QE Predictive Digital EFM OEMs including Airbus) for benchmarking of fleet performance. Identify opportunities to optimise the maintenance program to drive continuous improvement.
- Create strategic data analysis packs for Senior Management and/or internal/external stakeholders to optimise the AMP off-wing maintenance and aircraft technical/modification standard.
- Coordinate reporting to OEMs Technical engineering for connected aircraft systems including (but not limited to) ViaSat Inflight Connectivity A220 Health Management Unit and Virtual Quick Access Recorder data.
- Administer the operation of systems for creation and modification of User Modifiable Software and User Certifiable Software along with subsequent monitoring and verification of aircraft software configuration.
- Review OEM service literature for incorporation into the NJS fleet and Approved Maintenance Program (AMP) for ongoing airworthiness and to improve operational reliability.
- Attend Reliability Review Board meetings (as required) and action allocated tasks in a timely manner.
- Carry out special projects related to enhancing the technical status of the fleet.
- Comply with Group Management Systems and Policy
Youll have:
- Minimum 3 years experience in aircraft engineering and/or reliability roles
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent - Aircraft Maintenance Engineering experience
- Knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance and MSG-3 methodologies
- Experience with Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation P42 and regulatory frameworks
- Strong problem-solving and influencing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage multiple activities and complexity
