JOB POSTING Communications and Voter Engagement Supervisor The Hamilton County Board of Elections is seeking candidates for the position of Communications and Voter Engagement Supervisor Absentee Voting / Community Engagement Department. The Communications and Voter Engagement Supervisor reports to the AV/CE Elections Administrator and is responsible for developing the Boards strategy for internal and external communications. To maintain the bipartisan balance required of the Board of Elections staff applicants for this position must be affiliated with the Democratic Party. The Communications and Voter Engagement Supervisor: - Creates posts and maintains the Boards social media accounts.
- Monitors comments on social media accounts and consults with Director and Deputy Director and Administrator regarding response.
- Edits reviews maintains and updates current web pages. Consults web designers to develop design and produce new and existing web pages and database information.
- Produces video content for the Boards website social media and training programs.
- Responsible for branding and designing marketing materials graphics postcards signage and other visual communication media.
- Drafts and issues press releases with approval of director and deputy director
- Maintains media lists and assists with media relations
- Coordinates and tracks the Boards response to public records requests.
- Maintains the Boards policy and procedure manuals and develops internal communications strategies for ongoing compliance and training.
- Coordinates and models training and community engagement presentations to groups and organizations about elections administration coordinates the scheduling training of staff and preparing voter materials for the boards community engagement external events
- Coordinates Early In-Person Voting and supervises seasonal staff at the Early Vote Center
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma and related experience and/or training
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Social Media sites Canva and video editing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and part of a team
- Be a registered and active voter of the State of Ohio
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
- Possess a valid driver license and proof of insurance
- Ability to work extended hours
Working Conditions: - Sit for extended periods of time
- Frequent periods of standing walking stooping kneeling or crouching during election cycles
- Repetitive movement of hands and fingers (typing and/or writing)
- Occasional election cycle assignments may include working outdoors
- May be required to lift a maximum of thirty pounds
