POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Analytics Intern will support the predictive failure analysis initiative by managing and acquiring data from multiple sources (testing SPC RMA production etc.). The intern will work closely with the data scientist to understand stakeholder requirements build data models perform correlation studies and apply big data analytics techniques. The role includes identifying failure signatures and developing algorithms to detect abnormalities contributing to advanced predictive analytics for manufacturing quality improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect clean and organize large datasets from various sources (SPC RMA production testing).
  • Work with stakeholders to understand analytical requirements & translate them into data models.
  • Perform statistical analysis and correlation studies to identify patterns and root causes.
  • Apply big data analytics techniques to extract insights and trends.
  • Develop algorithms for anomaly detection and predictive failure analysis.
  • Document processes findings and models for knowledge sharing and future reference.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven insights

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Location: Fort Collins Colorado
  • Environment: The candidate will work in a fast-paced office environment and will use general office equipment and software: phone PC Microsoft Office 365 Suite.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Python R or similar programming languages for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database management.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and predictive modeling.
  • Ability to visualize data using tools like R Python Power BI Tableau or similar.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior exposure to data analytics projects (academic or internship) preferred.
  • Experience with big data tools (Hadoop Spark) is a plus
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and quality concepts is a plus

EDUCATION:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors or advanced degree in Data Science Computer Science Statistics Engineering or related field

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including but not limited to skill set level of experience and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $19 to $29 per hour.
