IT Business Systems Analyst - Knowledge Base Migration Specialist

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced IT Business Systems Analyst specializing in Knowledge Base Migration to support the hands-on migration of our knowledge base from its current platform to Confluence Cloud. This is a tactical execution-focused role that combines advanced business analysis skills with deep technical expertise in Confluence. You will work directly with the Change and Knowledge Management Lead and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition of content and functionality.

In this role you will analyze business processes and practices to focus the design and implementation of information technology solutions that meet customer needs and business initiatives. This position requires specialized depth and expertise with the ability to interpret business issues and recommend best practices while solving complex problems independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute migration tasks from current platform to Confluence Cloud ensuring content integrity and functionality
• Develop functional specifications by translating business requirements into clear and concise functional documentation
• Convert platform-specific elements (macros custom HTML widgets) to cloud-compatible solutions
• Build and refine page templates that maximize usability visual appeal and brand consistency
• Optimize page layouts and navigation structures for improved user experience
• Apply proficient understanding of taxonomy labels and information architecture to improve user experience
• Leverage Rovo to improve user access to information
• Perform testing and validation by collaborating with QA teams to define test scenarios and validate solutions against business requirements
• Test migrations and configurations before production deployment
• Implement out-of-the-box features in Confluence Cloud to replace or enhance current functionality
• Apply design best practices to create compelling user-friendly pages
• Monitor and evaluate solution performance by tracking and measuring the effectiveness of implemented solutions
• Document processes configurations and template standards for ongoing maintenance
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks share progress and ensure successful migration completion
• May lead functional teams or projects as recognized expert in the area

Required Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelors degree in a related field (Computer Science Information Systems or Business Administration)

Experience:

• 6-10 years of experience in business analysis IT systems analysis and technology implementation
• Extensive experience with Confluence Server and Cloud
• Proficiency in Confluence macros (both versions)
• Strong understanding of Confluence capabilities and limitations

Technical Skills:

• Solid understanding of HTML and CSS for custom page formatting and design
• Demonstrated ability to create and manage page templates for consistent branding and layout
• Proficiency in business intelligence tools such as SAP BOBJ and BPC
• Strong understanding of project management processes and principles
• Experience in IT budget forecasting
