GeoSpectrum is growing and were looking for a skilled Manufacturing Technician with a passion for building to join our team in Peterborough Ontario.



In this role youll be responsible for assembling and testing complex electro-mechanical components and systems. Youll work from detailed assembly documentation and processes applying your mechanical electrical and technical skills with precision. A strong aptitude for both electrical and mechanical work exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet timelines are essential.


As a Manufacturing Technician youll prepare parts perform electrical and mechanical assembly inspect finished work and carry out testing to ensure quality standards. Youll also contribute to improving assembly instructions product documentation drawings and schematics. Your work will support the development of accurate records and continuous improvement initiatives helping us deliver reliable high-quality products.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers and technologists to build advanced marine technology.
  • Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment including mechanical hydraulic pneumatic or low-voltage electronics perform repairs and assist with new equipment setup.
  • Follow detailed procedures and interpret drawings schematics routing cards and bill of matierals.
  • Assemble components and systems using mechanical and electro-mechanical techniques.
  • Perform product tests including pressure load and environmental testing.
  • Contribute to the refinement and improvement of product design and documentation and resolve assembly issues with cross-functional teams.
  • Prepare materials and use adhesives and compounds for bonding and encapsulation.
  • Complete production and quality records and manage non-conforming parts per ISO standards.
  • Work safely in a dynamic manufacturing environment following all safety procedures and maintain a clean hazard-free workstation.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent and/or relevant workplace experience. Formal trades training from a recognized college preferred.
  • 10 years of prior experience working with equipment for marine use electro-mechanical devices assembly of complex mechanical systems and components test engineering bonded assembly or encapsulation considered an asset.
  • Proficient computer literacy suitable for update and release of documents and referencing technical documentation.
  • Experience or willingness to learn engineering documentation.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to lift a minimum of 40lbs independently.
