THE OPPORTUNITY: CASE MANAGER ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY BC (ATBC)

The ATBC Case Manager provides assistive technology resources to adults with permanent disabilities in employment and educational settings throughout BC. The primary duties and responsibilities of the Assistive Technology Case Manager are case management determining client needs developing and maintaining assistive technology assessment plans and working alongside post-secondary institution Accessibility Consultants.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage assigned case load to coordinate and deliver timely client service and client record management for a case load of approximately 250 unique new cases annually.
  • Determine program service eligibility to establish scope of services available to clients.
  • Complete the client needs determination process through reviewing case history and assessment documentation interviewing and consulting stakeholders and researching industry-related resources.
  • Develop and maintain individualized technology action plans based on information gathered in the needs determination process.
  • Coordinate technology assessment plan implementation including equipment acquisition equipment configuration and equipment delivery and set- up.
  • Provide or coordinate on-going technical support and training to ensure clients are able to perform the solution instructions in their technology action plans.
  • Write technology assessment plan reports; documenting case progress reports and notes in a timely manner.
  • Process case service closure procedures which may include coordinating return of equipment on loan as well as updating case closure records.
  • Travel to client locations as needed when remote or necessary.

Professional Development and Leadership

  • Keep up to date with developments relating to assistive technologies used or potentially used by persons with disabilities in the post-secondary educational environment.
  • Provide content expertise to post-secondary institution and Ministry Staff relating to assistive technology services and solutions available to students with permanent disabilities.
  • Respond to ATBC agency service-related inquiries from the general public.
  • Deliver and participate in-service workshops presentations and qualification training relating to the services and resources provided through ATBC.
  • Other duties as assigned.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree related to Psychology Social Work Special Education or Educational Technology or other related rehabilitative therapeutic or health care field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant training and experience in disability case management.
  • Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) certification preferred or the equivalent knowledge and understanding of computer related technology to assist with assessing recommending and implementing assistive technology resources to adults with permanent disabilities in employment and educational settings.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage client cases through the complete service cycle.
  • Attention to detail to ensure that each case is administered in a timely efficient and sensitive manner; demonstrated tact diplomacy professionalism and the requirement of maintaining confidentiality.
  • Analytical and ability to make information data driven decisions.
  • Must have a valid B.C. drivers license and be willing to travel on a limited basis.

COMPENSATION

The compensation package will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The salary range for the position is $83785 to $98570 and a competitive benefits package including Municipal Pension Vancouver Employee Savings Plan (additional 2% of base salary) Extended Health Dental Group Life Long Term Disability 20 Paid Sick days accrued each calendar year 20 paid vacation days each calendar year (25 after 6 years of service) potential up to 4 days paid Gratuity five bonus supplemental paid vacation days after 11 years of employment every five years.

This position is currently 100% in-person at the ATBC Office (#108 - 1750 W 75th Ave Vancouver)
