Human Resources Director

The Opportunity
Our Client is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead its HR function and people strategy across its main offices in Victoria and Toronto as well as a growing remote workforce. This is a senior leadership role suited to a strategic thoughtful and hands-on HR professional who can align people initiatives with business objectives while strengthening organizational culture across the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape and execute the firms HR strategy in alignment with its strategic plan and growth objectives
- Review develop and maintain HR policies and protocols including hiring compensation performance management and workplace conduct
- Oversee recruitment selection onboarding and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent
- Lead performance management systems compensation planning and benefits administration
- Manage complex employee relations matters including investigations and conflict resolution
- Advise and report to senior leadership on organizational design workforce planning and employee relations
- Lead firm-wide leadership development succession planning and change management initiatives
- Leverage HR analytics to support executive decision-making and measure organizational effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation across multiple jurisdictions while proactively managing risk
- Champion diversity equity and inclusion as core organizational values
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management Business Administration Labour Relations Organizational Development or a related field
- Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role
- Professional designation such as CPHR SPHR or SHRM-SCP
- Demonstrated success leading strategic and operational HR initiatives in complex multi-site organizations
- Strong working knowledge of HRIS payroll and practice management systems (experience with BambooHR PGI or Elite 3E is an asset)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365
- Experience working with Indigenous nations communities businesses or organizations is strongly preferred

- Proven ability to coach senior leaders and develop high-performing HR teams
- Strong business acumen including budgeting forecasting and negotiation skills

- Clear and transparent communicator who builds trust across diverse groups
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary range of $100000 $130000 commensurate with experience and education
