Role Overview
The Product Merchandiser is responsible for building the right product mix
pricing strategy category planning and collection development for the brand.
This role directly influences revenue brand positioning and customer experience by
ensuring the brand launches the right designs at the right price for the right
is a strategic product role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product & Collection Planning
Develop seasonal monthly and festival-based collection calendars (e.g. Diwali
Valentines Rakhi Gifting).
Identify gaps in the assortment based on customer insights competition and
trend analysis.
Define which categories (rings pendants earrings mens jewelry) should be
prioritized.
2. Market Research & Trend Analysis
Conduct trend studies (global and Indian jewelry trends influencers Pinterest
runway reports).
Benchmark competitors like Giva Shaya Clara etc.
Understand customer preferences based on price design material and lifestyle.
3. Pricing Strategy & Margin Planning
Set pricing architecture for all collections.
Define ASP (Average Selling Price) targets for the brand.
Work with Product Head to define margin expectations per category.
Ensure pricing aligns with brand positioning and competitive landscape.
4. Collaboration with Jewelry Designer
Provide clear design briefs based on category priorities and customer insights.
Approve prototypes and final designs for launch.
Ensure design themes align with brand identity (minimal daily wear gifting
modern classics etc.).
5. Data-Driven Decision Making
Work with the Data Analyst to track:
Best-selling styles
Under-performing collections
Category contribution
ASP trends
Use insights to refine future assortment and pricing.
6. Launch Planning & Cross-Functional Alignment
Develop launch readiness for each new collection.
Work with Visual Merchandiser for product presentation direction.
Coordinate with Performance & Growth Manager for selecting hero products for
campaigns.
Align with Brand Manager for storytelling naming and positioning.
7. Marketplaces Coordination (No Inventory Role)
Provide inputs to the E-Commerce Manager for listing sequences and content
needs.
Recommend which new designs should be pushed on Amazon/Myntra/Flipkart.

36 years of product merchandising experience (fashion/jewelry/lifestyle
preferred).
Strong design sense commercial understanding.
Aesthetic understanding of jewelry market trends.
Strong analytical skills (basic Excel trend interpretation).
