We are presently accepting resumes for a Contract Full-time Treatment Home Support Worker to provide quality supports to individuals residing in the Treatment Home. This position will follow identified strategies in treatment plans to meet the direct needs of the individuals living in the home in accordance with the policies and procedures of Empower Simcoe and legislative requirements. This is a contract position up to December 31 2026.
Compensation package:
- Work up to 42 hours per week working 12-hour shifts;
- Required to work weekends and public holidays as scheduled;
- Minimum starting rate of pay is $33.83 per hour;
- Employer paid confidential EAP program for you and your family members;
Following the successful completion of a 3-month probationary period:
- Employer paid Benefits (life insurance short- and long-term disability benefits health and dental);
- Group RRSP plan with Employer matched benefit up to 5% of gross earnings biweekly;
- Employer paid sick personal leave and vacation hours;
Minimum requirements for this position include:
- Community College Diploma in Social Services or a closely related field from an acceptable accredited college. Educational focus in Behavioural Sciences Psychology Police Foundations Child and youth Worker Developmental Services Worker Social Services Worker etc.
- Registered Behavioural Technician certificate an asset;
- Minimum of two (2) years recent full-time work experience supporting hard to serve adults with complex care needs in community residential settings;
- Experience supporting people with behaviour management techniques is an asset;
- Experience supporting teams with the implementation of clinical and/or treatment plans in collaboration with leadership community partners and families;
Special factors:
- Demonstrate the ability to respond effectively and calmly in crisis situations through various approved verbal de-escalation and physical intervention techniques. Position requires considerable physical interventions involving frequent bending turning twisting and kneeling in response to crisis behaviour;
- Proficient in the administration of first aid CPR NVCI and medication dispensing;
- Valid class G drivers license and own reliable transportation to be used in the course of employment;
Duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Demonstrating a clear understanding of the requirements for data collection and implementing for all treatment plans;
- Participating in the supported individuals goal planning in accordance with the desire of the individual and in conjunction with the Site Coordinator and Manager;
- Foster the independence of those supported in the program and actively participate in transition planning for people supported and their families;
- Ensuring implementation of all safety protocols for each person supported ensuring the health and safety of people supported staff visitors and community;
- Providing appropriate supports to meet the physical medical and emotional needs of all supported
individuals i.e.: doctors appointments medical reviews;
- Completing all required documentation in a timely and effective manner and providing reports as requested by the Manager;
- Demonstrating a clear understanding and implementation of all treatment plans related protocols and data collection required;
- Demonstrating initiative by anticipating and preparing for problem solving and preventative strategies;
- Administering medications in accordance with the Agencys policies and procedures;
- Facilitating family participation in individuals life;
- Liaising with clinical professionals collecting appropriate data and actively carrying out appropriately prescribed programs & treatments to address the clinical behavioural and/or mental health needs of people supported;
- Working in collaboration with the Manager and Site Coordinator to analyze Personal Outcome data and effecting changes to supports as needed or requested by each person supported;
- Supporting people with their budgeting banking and purchases as may be requested or required and completing necessary Agency documentation. Being accountable and responsible for Agency monies spent e.g. groceries supplies petty cash;
- Assisting with household routines such as cleaning cooking and minor maintenance.
