About the team and role:

Deakin Analytics and Insights (DAI) is the central hub for data analytics and delivery of data-driven insights to inform decisions through enhanced reporting capabilities and strengthened partnerships across the University.

Insights Enablement supportsa cohesive and efficient Business Insights and Intelligence Networkby optimising its operations. The team focuses on Network effectiveness by buildingNetwork capabilitypartnering with key stakeholders to facilitate connection between data actionable insights and strategic decision making and supporting the development and execution of business strategies and related initiatives.

The Senior Consultant Insights Enablement plays a key role in driving the effectiveness of the Universitys intelligence and insights Network collaborating with a team of professionals to deliver outstanding advice and services to our customers. The role will contribute to the enhancement of practices and methodology in business insights and analytics identify objectives and strategic options to support senior decision making and improve the Universitys business performance.

As a Senior Consultant you will:

  • Actively engage and enable collaboration across teams and with a diverse range of stakeholders including Deakins analytics community and senior decision makers to negotiate strategic solutions that drive business performance.
  • Work confidently with data and analysis and act as a trusted adviser to senior decision makers across the organisation.
  • Set the standard coaching others and embed best-practice approaches to build capability in data/evidence-based insights.
  • Build and utilise strong relationships across the University to eliminate duplication and ensure coordinated consistent analytics activity.
  • Develop effective consistent and innovative processes that drive best-practice data storytelling visualisation interpretation and data governance.

To be successful youll have:

  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Proven track record of analysing complex datasets to derive actionable insights develop and visualise compelling narratives and support strategic decision-making.
  • Understanding of strategic thinking planning and strategy implementation.
  • Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities related to data-driven decision-making in educational institutions or similar settings.
  • Experience in negotiating influencing and communicating with diverse and senior stakeholder groups.
