Lead Quality Engineer (Level 5)

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Quality Engineer to join our team in Huntsville AL.

This position requires a Bachelors degree in one of the following relevant fields of study:

• Engineering
• Computer Science
• Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology)
• Mathematics
• Physics
• Chemistry

Position Responsibilities:

• Advises others in the preparation of significant bids and proposals
• Authors Quality plans for major programs
• Advises suppliers and business partners in the development of their Quality plans to ensure the flow down of requirements
• Consults at the business unit level to develop Quality criteria for supplier selection
• Oversee the development of methods procedures and metrics to ensure quality standards and practices for large programs and derivatives
• Leads verification reviews to ensure adequate surveillance to validate product and process Quality requirements
• Develops new methods for conducting product and process validation
• Represents Quality in design reviews of the inter-relationship of multiple systems
• Advises on development of methods for testing and approval of products processes equipment and measurement systems to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
• Performs benchmarking of enterprise best practices
• Leads cross-functional continuous Quality improvement efforts
• Develops new applications for advanced statistical methods
• Works under consultative direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelors degree in:
  • Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology)
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry

• 5 years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• 5 years of experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis data collection preparation and interpretation
• 5 years of experience with quality Inspection and/or auditing
• 5 years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Previous aerospace manufacturing or fabrication experience

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
