The Explorers Manager leads Avenues after-school winter summer and academic travel programs ensuring high-quality learning experiences beyond the classroom that advance the schools mission. This role combines strategic vision team leadership operational excellence and financial stewardship to deliver programs that inspire students to explore passions take risks and grow as global citizens.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design implementation and continuous improvement of all Explorers programs including after-school winter summer and academic national and international trips.
- Develop a clear vision for Explorers programming aligned with Avenues educational philosophy and strategic priorities.
- Recruit onboard and manage Explorers staff and more than 30 third-party providers.
- Partner with academic leadership to design trips aligned with classroom learning.
- Oversee program logistics operations and risk management to ensure smooth and safe execution.
- Manage the Explorers budget in collaboration with the Finance team.
- Monitor program quality enrollment and satisfaction using data and feedback to drive improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the school and the Nord Anglia network.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree required; degree in Education or a related field is a plus.
- Fluency in both Portuguese and English.
- Experience leading or developing educational enrichment or experiential programs (extended-day arts sports or experiential learning preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to build programs and processes in dynamic or ambiguous environments.
- Strong people management skills including hiring onboarding and managing internal teams and external partners.
- Experience managing budgets and using data to inform strategic and operational decisions.
- Proven experience planning and leading national and/or international student trips.
- Excellent organizational communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong alignment with Avenues mission values and commitment to global citizenship.
