We are currently recruiting a full-time Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team located in the heart of Noosa just steps from Noosa Main Beach. This is a hands-on role suited to a skilled and passionate pastry professional who takes pride in quality consistency and presentation.
The position involves the preparation production and presentation of a range of pastry items in accordance with established menus and standards. You will bring strong technical pastry skills the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment and a genuine passion for producing high-quality desserts and baked goods.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing baking and presenting pastries desserts and baked goods in line with menu specifications
- Planning and organising pastry preparation across service periods
- Ensuring consistency quality and presentation of all pastry items
- Monitoring food preparation processes to ensure compliance with hygiene health and safety regulations
- Correctly storing ingredients and finished products managing stock rotation to minimise waste
- Assisting with ordering receiving and checking pastry ingredients and supplies
- Cleaning and maintaining pastry equipment workstations and production areas
- Supporting kitchen operations during service as required
- Contributing to menu execution and continuous improvement of pastry offerings
Qualifications :
- Minimum 2 years of relevant full-time commercial pastry or cooking experience or a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery / Patisserie (or equivalent)
- Proven experience performing duties consistent with the occupation of Pastry Chef
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and safe food handling practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment
- Strong teamwork communication and time-management skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience in restaurant or high-volume pastry production
- Bread and dough production experience
- Dessert plating and modern pastry techniques
- Chocolate pastry cream or laminated dough experience
- Food Safety Supervisor certification
