Ultrasound Technologist (RVT) - Clinical (Non-Exempt)Physicians Primary Care of Southwest Florida is a premier physician owned and managed primary care practice with locations in Cape Coral Estero Fort Myers and Lehigh are seeking an Ultrasound Technologist (RVT) to join our Adult Medicine division in Cape Coral with occasional Pediatric patients. The schedule is Monday through Friday day shift with scheduled travel on Wednesdays to our Metro Fort Myers location. Travel schedule is subject to change based on patient schedules. Position Summary The Ultrasound Technologist (RVT) will perform diagnostic vascular ultrasound examinations primarily for adult patients with occasional pediatric patients. This role requires proficiency in vascular ultrasound techniques and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical team. The position is non-exempt and follows a Monday through Friday day shift schedule with scheduled travel on Wednesdays to our Metro Fort Myers location and other PPC locations as needed based on patient needs. Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across all specialty areas including vascular studies.
- Assist radiologists and physicians during ultrasound-guided procedures as needed.
- Prepare evaluate and review ultrasound images for interpretation by radiologists and/or physicians.
- Ensure proper patient preparation positioning and comfort throughout examinations.
- Operate ultrasound equipment safely and effectively maintaining image quality standards.
- Exercise sound judgment in selecting appropriate imaging techniques and protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards. Ensure compliance with all safety infection control and quality assurance policies.
- Travel between multiple clinic locations as assigned.
- Adapt to schedule location and workflow changes as operational needs require.
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and departmental collaboration.
- Maintain professional competency through continuing education and adherence to certification requirements.
Qualifications- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification required.
- Proven experience performing vascular ultrasound examinations in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy pathology and ultrasound technology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to the Metro Fort Myers location on Wednesdays.
- Flexibility to work Monday through Friday during day shifts.
Education- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- RDMS ARRT (US) or CCI certification with demonstrated registry knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
- Minimum of 12 years of professional ultrasound experience (excluding clinical rotations or internships)
- Completion of required continuing education hours per certification and regulatory requirements (ARDMS ARRT federal and other applicable accrediting agencies)
- Current CPR Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience: - 1-2 years of professional work experience. Any exceptions must be approved by the director of clinical services.
Environmental / Working Conditions: - Normal office environment. Potential exposure to communicable diseases toxic substances ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical environment.
Physical/Mental Demands: - Requires prolonged sitting some bending stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard photocopier telephone calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
