Job Description:
Responsible for system/software safety across the full development lifecycle ensuring compliance with civil and defense safety standards. Involves hazard identification structured safety analyses and collaboration with cross-functional teams to resolve complex system issues.
Skills Required:
- Experience with software safety standards (DO-178C MIL-STD-822 AMCOM385-17 Joint Software Safety Engineering Handbook)
- Familiarity with SAE ARP-4761 ARP-4754 and MIL-STD-882 processes
- Direct experience in SAE ARP4761 analyses: AFHA/SFHA PASA/PSSA/ASA/SSA PRA ZSA CMA
- Direct experience in MIL-STD-882 analyses: PHA O&SHA HHA SHA/SSHA Hazardous Materials FMECA SAR
- MBSE/MBSA experience or training preferred
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills cross-functional collaboration
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Technical/functional understanding of aircraft systems
Qualifications:
- 5 years on aircraft/system development or sustainment programs with structured safety processes
- Bachelors degree in STEM (related military/aviator/mechanic qualifications considered)
- Advanced degrees count as additional experience
- Eligible for Secret Security Clearance
