Job Summary
This is a remote position.
We are looking for an experienced Data Integration & Migration Expert to join a high-profile project within the banking sector. You will play a pivotal role in evolving a modern data infrastructure transitioning legacy systems into cloud-based environments.
This is a full-time 3-month freelance-B2B contract with a high chance of extension and a daily rate is available for the successful candidate. Please note that English is the only language requirement for this position. Occasional onsite visits to Leipzig (monthly or less) may be required to facilitate team collaboration.
Responsibilities:
Pipeline Development: Expand and refine existing data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow and reliability.
Cloud Migration: Lead the migration of data environments from MySQL and legacy warehouse structures into BigQuery.
Architecture Design: Design and implement robust Bronze Silver and Gold data layers to ensure high data quality and governance.
Performance Optimisation: Fine-tune BigQuery models specifically for downstream consumption in Power BI to ensure high-speed reporting.
Data Pattern Management: Manage CDC (Change Data Capture) patterns and handle the integration of SAS-based data sets.
Requirements
Technical Expertise: Proven experience as an expert in Data Integration and complex Data Migration projects.
Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) specifically BigQuery Dataflow and Data Fusion.
Tooling: Proficiency in SAS MySQL and Power BI.
ETL Knowledge: Deep understanding of ETL/ELT processes and the ability to map and optimise existing data workflows.
Eligibility: Residency in the EU EEC UK or Switzerland is mandatory.
