What You Will Do

The Software Developer (Progress) is responsible for having a strong aptitude for understanding complex business problems and translating their technical knowledge into practical implementable solutions that will drive high impact business value.

They work closely with other team members to maintain internal applications and develop new products and services.

• Work with stakeholders technology and agile project managers to define business requirements for every scrum / project and map out end-to-end solutions.
• Design develop enhance modify and maintain application code and software solutions based on specific business requirements.
• Liaise with internal user groups as needed to effectively program applications based on business and systems requirements.
• Ensures that functional specifications can be implemented technically while developing and innovating creative solutions.
• Be an integral part of the Information Systems team focused on the effective development and support of internal facing applications.
• Work collaboratively with peers and business partners to deliver high quality projects and innovative solutions that advance Fidelitys position within the Mutual Fund Industry.

What Were Looking For

• Degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Economics or Mathematics.
• 2 years of related experience

• Knowledge and experience in developing applications for mutual fund/investment industry
• Passionate in developing database solutions and API / webservices programming using RESTful / SOAP methods and remote procedure calls
• Knowledge of API development and testing tools
• Development experience in Progress OpenEdge or other database platforms such as Oracle or MySQL
• Effective communication skills with ability to prepare project documentation & presentations

• Base Salary: A competitive annual range of $90000 to $115000 based on your experience and qualifications.
• Performance Bonus: Eligible for a discretionary bonus that rewards your contributions and results.
• RRSP Contribution: After 6 months of employment we invest in your future with an RRSP contributionno employee matching required.
