About the Role
A wonderful opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic creative professional to join our Arts team. This role works across internal teams external community groups and regional partners to support opportunities for our creative community and grow the creative ecology of the region.
Responsibilities include:
Managing the exhibition program for the West Gippsland Arts Centre (WGAC)
Administrating the Arts & Culture Fund
facilitating the Arts & Cultural Advisory Committee meetings and activities
Supporting local creative groups with advice and support
Participating in region wide initiatives
Managing the Public Art & Civic Art Collections.
Working as part of the broader Arts Team including the WGAC this role supports holistic programming decisions and activation initiatives. As a member of the Arts leadership group the Coordinator Arts & Culture actively contributes to the positive and collaborative team culture of the Arts Team and broader organisation.
About the Successful Candidate
As the successful candidate you will have great interpersonal and very strong communication skills. You will have a strong understanding of the Arts sector and very strong project management and community engagement skills.
You are able to manage your time independently to develop and deliver a diverse range of projects which are at various stages. You easily nurture relationships with a broad range of people across the organisation community and Arts sectors. You are able to lead and inspire a small team and contribute to strategic plans and reports for the wider organisation.
You are committed to supporting the creative industries and have a can-do approach to creative problem solving. You are a team player who contributes positively to the strong supportive culture of the team. You can balance new ideas and initiatives with realistic delivery and risk assessments to set projects and people up for success.
Qualifications or significant experience working in Arts administration is essential. Leadership and local government experience is highly desirable. Experience in public art would be favourable.
A valid Working with Children Check and Victorian Drivers Licence is required for this role.
