Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS) is a medium-sized rural health service that delivers a range of programs and services including acute subacute residential aged care and allied and primary health care services. KDHS has three campuses located in the townships of Kyabram Stanhope and Tongala.

the Role

The Health Information Services Department is responsible for assisting the management of health information. The role includes medical record coding clinical documentation education and quality improvement activities.

As a member of the Corporate Services team the appointee will provide leadership in achieving and upholding Kyabram District Health Service Vision and Values.

About You

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving ability
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while managing time effectively to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner
• Demonstrated ability to operate with minimal supervision and show high levels of initiative whilst understanding limitations to Scope of Practice.
• Excellent skills in the use of Microsoft Office products and the ability to work with multiple software programs.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain strict information Privacy (Confidentiality)
• High-level communication and interpersonal skills that support and enhance positive relationships.

Desirable:

• Experience as a Health Information Manager or clinical coder in a general medical/surgical Health Service
• Knowledge and use of ICD-10-AM medical coding requirements
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service
• High-level computer literacy
• Experience in Management System (IPM)
