By The Hand is a not-for-profit religious organization. Individuals employed at By The Hand are working in ministerial roles and perform all or some of the following responsibilities: sharing the Gospel teaching chapel leading Bible studies discipling students and modeling behavior that is consistent with Christs teaching.

Overview of Position
The Grants & Strategic Partnerships Manager is an integral member of the Fund Development department and supports the Strategic Engagement teams strategies priorities and goals. This role will assist with the administrative duties of our grant work including collaborating with external writers conducting research drafting requests and managing funded opportunities. They will help manage the grant process from start to finish and ensure that high-quality grant LOIs proposals and reports are completed in a timely fashion. This person will create and manage the grant calendar and will work with finance to oversee the implementation of grant budgets.
The Grants & Strategic Partnership Manager will also work to develop a pipeline of new opportunities with corporations and foundations. They will be responsible for researching new funding sources and will maintain a portfolio of prospects or lapsed donors cultivating relationships.
Working with the Senior Vice President of Strategic Engagement the Grants & Strategic Partnership Manager will ensure proper engagement for allgrantor opportunities and work to identify new prospects. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Strategic Engagement.

Role Responsibilities
Performs in a way that is consistent with the vision mission and culture of By The Hand and commits to excellence in every aspect of the overall operation.
Models cultural values of By The Hand Club For Kids in day-to-day behavior.
Follows all policies as outlined in the operational guide including maintaining brand standards and ensuring 100% adherence to the Child Protection Policy.
Participates in employee growth plans including quarterly conversations and annual review meetings.
Works with the Strategic Engagement team to meet team fundraising goals and focus efforts around operational fundraising.
Manages grant application process including determining program fit direction of proposals authoring applications and working with the Senior Vice President of Strategic Engagement consultants and additional staff to ensure superior quality of grant proposals and efficiency of the process.
Determines why rejected proposals were not funded and develops a plan for submitting new proposals.
Manages all current and future grant opportunities using Salesforce.
Develop and implement a strategic communications plan for ensuring corporate and foundation partners are connected to the organization and informed.
Manages library of stories and authors case statements for use in proposals.
Collaborates with the finance team and program data consultant to ensure thorough and accurate reporting for all grant funding.
Stays closely attuned to the corporate and foundation philanthropic community to identify and capitalize on all funding opportunities that might support new and existing By The Hand initiatives
Creates resources and updates shared department documents in Google Drive.
Leads research for new corporate and foundation partnerships and implements a plan for new funding requests.
Generates new foundation and corporate leads.
Attends networking events in the local corporate and grantor community.
Participates in larger fund development organizational projects when expertise and knowledge are applicable.
Works on occasion with the Chief of Partnerships and Development for capital-related grant projects.
Participates in Fund Development team meetings and activities and By The Hand staff requirements such as personal development plan meetings.
Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Education and Experience
B.A. or B.S. in Non-profit Marketing Communication Business Education or related fields.
Ability to utilize database software research programs MS Office Suite and Drive and all social media platforms.
Must have a valid drivers license available transportation and their own auto insurance to travel around the city.
Minimum 2 years of grant management or corporate philanthropy experience.
Past experience working with or volunteering with a Christ-centered youth- serving organization preferred.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and is a hybrid role. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopier filing cabinets and fax machines. This job is not a virtual job but it requires in-person attendance as agreed upon by your immediate supervisor.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to speak and listen. This role may require you to move equipment from room to room and lift up to 50 pounds. The individual is also required to travel throughout the city and to other organization sites to meet with partners candidates and staff.
