Seasoned AU Estimator

We are seeking an initiative-taking and experienced Estimator with strong Commercial and Architectural skills to join our team. As an estimator you will be working closely daily with the Managing Director and will closely liaise with Client Project Managers (PMs) Quantity Surveyors (QS) and key subcontractors during the tender preparation process to clarify scope design issues and achieve the most accurate pricing. The Estimator will lead and take ownership of allocated tenders prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) cost estimates and professional tender submissions.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Project estimation

Preparing a Scope of Works for a wide range of projects

Obtaining competitively priced materials

Undertake material take offs.

Preparation and participation in Tender Handover meetings

Form relationships with existing clients including following up on existing tenders.

Ensure compliance with Tender requirements.

Prepare construction budget by studying plans specification and schedules identifying and projecting costs

Measurement of critical take-off metrics and preparation of bill of quantities

Sending and tracking of tender packages to contractors and suppliers

Report on tender risk & opportunities

Ensure tender submissions are in line with client requirements.

Candidates must have:
Construction experience in AU is MUST

Proficient skills in BuilXact Bluebeam or similar tool

Good communication skills

Proficiency in Word and Excel

Working knowledge and understanding of architectural drawings

Must be flexible and be able to work to tight deadlines.

Previous experience in a similar role is essential - general estimator

The ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team.

Be flexible and progressive in thinking and be able to action thoughts.

Detail oriented (provide detailed quotes covering materials labor and

installation costs)
