Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) Medical-Surgical/Telemetry provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients requiring acute medical and cardiac monitoring. This role involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team utilization of evidence-based practices and delivery of safe patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Scheduling & Policies
Charting System: Epic (required)
Time-Off Requests (RTO): Must be submitted at the time of candidate submission
Call-Off Policy: Up to three shifts may be canceled during a 13-week contract without penalty
First-Time Travelers: Accepted
Local Candidates: RN candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
Required Licensure & Certifications
Active New York State RN License (single state; NY is not a compact state)
BLS (AHA preferred)
Pending licenses are not accepted
Required Clinical Skills
Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing in an acute care setting
Cardiac monitoring dysrhythmia interpretation and emergency response
Rapid Response and Code Team activation
Peripheral IV therapy and phlebotomy
Oxygen delivery systems (nasal cannula oxygen tanks non-invasive airway support)
Infection control and isolation precautions
Unit Details
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:5 to 1:7
Recent acute care experience required (within the past 6 months)
MS/Tele unit assignment determined at time of offer
Floating: Required within skillset
Scrub Color: Navy blue and white combinations
